   A Word From Wayne

Text Box:
Hello again!

Don’t forget that this month’s meeting, on June 11th, is bumped up to 7:00 due to the fact we will have a short business meeting at Autoway Ford.  Instead of breaking half-way through our meeting for drinks and snacks, we will hop in our cars and cruise to Sonic on 49th Street and 78th Avenue North in Pinellas Park. We will display our cars, eat dinner, hang out, and have a good time. For those of you who have never done this, our Vice President John Stockowski has done a great job setting it up in the past. The people at Sonic have been great hosts providing us with great service and food, and all for affordable prices. We may even have one of our world famous games, and of course there are semi-valuable prizes at stake. Speaking of upcoming events, here is our five month itinerary for our meetings:

July 9th- Meeting at Autoway Ford. Tentatively scheduled, we will have a guest speaker talking about crime prevention and identity theft.
August 13th- Meeting will be held at Golden Corral (Ulmerton Road just east of Missouri Boulevard). Meeting time will be bumped up to 7:00 p.m.
September 10th- We will have our meeting back at Autoway Ford. Jim and Lucy Carroll will have a slide show presentation with interesting pictures from numerous car       shows they attended this summer in Europe.

Text Box:
October 8th- Meeting will be held at Quaker Steak and Lube (10400 - 49th Street at US 19). Meeting will start at 7:00 p.m.
November 12th- Our meeting will be held back at Autoway Ford. We will have our annual elections for upcoming officers.
December- We will have our annual Christmas Party. We will inform everyone with more details soon.

We are also planning some other interesting events, but we don’t have dates for them yet. We are working on another bowling outing, a “hands-on” car care clinic and of course, our annual Toys for Tots gift drive.

If anyone has anything to add to our newsletter, that would be great. Our Auto-Biography series has been a success, but we can’t write them for you. Every car has a story, why not share yours.

Thanks,
Wayne Farnham
President

Meeting Minutes May 14, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7:40 p.m. at Autoway Ford.

The main topic of discussion was the Spring Fling Car Show.  We talked about the positives and negatives.  Thankfully, there were many more positives than negatives.  We had a good turnout of over 100 vehicles, the weather was good, plenty of raffle prizes for everyone, good food, and of course the “redneck games.”  We might do “day of show” judging next year and we will come up with better classes for sorting the cars  to be judged.  We’re always looking for input from club members on how to do things better.

Some club members participated in the Kruse Auto Auction at the Florida State Fairgrounds in early May.  Club members drove cars onto the auction platform and then drove them off when the bidding was over.  It was harder work than we thought it would be, but it sure was a blast driving some awesome rides.  My favorite to drive was a Hemi ‘Cuda.  The club also was paid $750 for doing this hard job.  Thanks to all the members who participated and filled the club treasury with some “dinero”.

Board of Directors meeting May 22, 2007 at Mikes Pizza, 7p.m.

The June meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. at Autoway Ford.  We will meet here and cruise to Sonic Drive Thru in Pinellas Park for some reduced-price, fast food.

Meeting adjourned 8:45

Respectfully submitted,

Steve Hansen

Wayne is hosting a Restomod car clinic on Saturday, July 14. The start time will be 9:00 am until 12:00 noon.  This is a clinic where we will be talking about restoration and modifications to your old or new Mustangs. Hopefully, with a hands-on atmosphere, we will be able to answer any of your questions as to what is involved with doing any number of different things to your car. The clinic will be held at Restomodplus, 13730-B 50th Way N., Clearwater, FL 33760. Bring a chair. Lunch will be provided after the clinic. Let’s all bring our cars to show them off and it might make for some great group pics. For further information, any last minute updates, and a map to get here check it out at www.restomodplus.com . You can email me a RSVP at Wayne @restomodplus.com .
