
THIS 1963 PLYMOUTH FURY STILL HAS ITS FACTORY 318 POLY ANGLE ENGINE. IT CAME WITH A 2 BBL CARB, AND THAT WAS GREAT FOR THE FIRST 45 YEARS, BUT WE DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO STEP IT UP A BIT. NOT FOR THE POWER, BUT FOR THE DRIVEABILITY. THE NEW EDELBROCK CARB HAS AN ELECTRIC CHOKE AND MUCH BETTER THROTTLE RESPONSE. WE WERE ABLE TO SCORE AN ORIGINAL STYLE FACTORY 4 BBL CAST IRON INTAKE ON EBAY. WE BEAD BLASTED IT, DETAILED IT, AND THEN INSTALLED IT ONTO THE ORIGINAL MOTOR, WE FABBED A NEW FUEL LINE, WIRED IN THE ELECTRIC CHOKE, MODIFIED THE THROTTLE AND TRANSMISSION LEVERS A BIT, THEN TOPPED IT OFF WITH A CHROME AIR CLEANER AND A CUSTOM 318 HI-PERFORMANCE DECAL. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT, A LITTLE MORE KICK, MUCH EASIER TO START, A LOT BETTER THROTTLE RESPONSE AND IT ALL STILL LOOKS PRETTY MUCH LIKE IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY THAT WAY.
